Howell Quality Roofing is a roofing company based in Howell, NJ, with more than 20 years of experience repairing and replacing roofs on houses, townhouses and small commercial buildings across Monmouth and Ocean counties. Most of our work starts the same way: with a homeowner who has a stain on the ceiling, a few shingles in the yard or a roof that is getting old, and who wants a straight answer about what it needs.

That straight answer is the center of how we work. We would rather fix one failed flashing and leave a sound roof in place than sell a replacement nobody needed, and we put our reasons in writing so you can check them.

Our Approach

We look before we price. Every leak call includes a trip into the attic as well as onto the roof, because the stain on the ceiling is rarely directly under the spot where water gets in. Once we know the cause, we tell you whether a repair will hold before replacement comes up at all.

When a new roof is the right call, our written scope separates tear-off, decking, underlayment, flashing, ventilation and gutters, so you can compare it with any other proposal line by line. Rotten decking found under the old roof is photographed and shown to you before it is replaced, at a per-sheet price already set in the contract.

We also build roofs to last past the warranty paperwork. Step, counter and chimney flashing are replaced with every new roof rather than bent back and reused, and attic ventilation is checked on every replacement, because a roof that cannot breathe wears out from underneath. Our contracts follow New Jersey’s home improvement rules, including the three-day cancellation notice. In townhouse and adult communities, we check the association’s documents to confirm who holds the roof before we write an estimate.

Local conditions shape the work too. Many Howell homes sit under tall pines and oaks, so we call out overhanging limbs, needle-packed valleys and mossy, shaded slopes in our estimates. After a wind storm, we tarp the same day and photograph the damage before anything moves, write it up for the owner’s own insurance claim, and meet the adjuster on site when asked.

Roofs under solar panels are scheduled with the panel removal and reinstall planned in advance, and sellers can get a written roof condition report to hand to a buyer’s inspector. At the end of every work day, the driveway, yard and gutters are cleaned and swept with a magnet for nails.
